Celebrating Mom

Mother’s Day is Sunday, are you ready?  If not, here are some tips and ideas to get you started.

Here’s a bunch of great ideas, many of which are quick and easy to make.

You could also give mom a gift certificate or gift card to her favorite relaxation destination.  This could be a local spa, or it could be a coffee house, wherever she likes to go and get away for a bit.  Flowers, especially ones that come in pots and can be planted outside (or not!) make great gifts too.  Moms always appreciate a little extra help with chores around the house, so look for little ways you can help make mom’s job easier.

There are tons of great card ideas at Kaboose and FamilyFun, but it’s always fun to come up with your own creative way to express your love and appreciation to mom.

Breakfast in bed is a classic for Mother’s Day.  However, I suggest you serve a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch at the kitchen table. The difference? Serving it at the table and making it brunch lets mom sleep in and doesn’t get the crumbs in bed.

You can also take mom out for dinner to her favorite restaurant, drop her off at the spa or pamper her at home.  Don’t forget to do all her chores for that day and take care of meals so she doesn’t have to think about it.

Here are some yummy strawberry themed ideas for Mother’s Day.

Not thinking strawberries?  Food Network, Martha Stewart, Eating Well, Taste of Home and Better Homes & Gardens all have a ton of ideas you can make with the kids.
